China has the most extensive range of electric vehicles on offer, with an eye-popping 300 EV models available. Europe’s carmakers as a whole come in second with 184 models, and the United States follows behind with 65, according to motoring website Vehicle Freak.

The People’s Republic is also home to some 75% of global EV battery production. Six of the world’s 10 biggest EV battery companies are Chinese, and include companies such as CATL, Warren Buffet’s BYD, CALB, Gotion High-Tech, Sunwoda and Eve Energy, according to SNE Research. Many have joint ventures and operations outside of China.

The country also has the most publicly available chargers, including 85% of the world’s fast chargers and 55% of the slow chargers.
