Additive Earnings Soar

Lubrizol Corp., parent of Lubrizol Additives, NewMarket Corp., parent of Afton Chemical, and Chevron Corp., parent of Chevron Oronite, all reported strong earnings for their additives segments in the quarter ending June 30, despite pressure from rising raw material costs. Valvoline, SK Earnings Up for Quarter

Financial results for the quarter ending June 30 saw another increase in operating income at lubricant blender Valvoline, and a strong performance by the lubricant division of South Korean base oil refiner SK Energy. Prista Builds Base Oil Terminal

Bulgarian lubricant marketer Prista Oil announced last week that it plans to build a terminal for lubricating base oils in the Black Sea port town of Varna. Dow Hikes Biocide Price

Dow Biocides, a business unit of Dow Chemical, Monday announced it is raising list and off-list prices for its entire glutaraldehyde product portfolio, by 10 cents per pound in North America and 10 percent for the rest of the world.
