New passenger car registrations in the European Union climbed to 787,626 in August, up 21% compared to the same month last year, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association reported. That included double-digit percentage gains in the three largest markets – by 37% in Germany, by 24% in France and by 12% in Italy.
