Group II, III Continue Growth

API Group III base oil will enjoy the strongest base stock demand growth through 2017, followed by Group II, consultancy Kline and Co. concluded in studies that forecast future global supply and demand for lubricant base stocks. NexLube Rerefinery Targets 2014

NexLube now expects to launch its base oil rerefinery in Florida in July 2014, following delays related to weather and equipment. Fuchs Opens New Plant in Russia

Fuchs Petrolub recently opened a new lubricants plant in Russia to offer more products on local and regional markets. The 15 million (U.S. $20.4 million) blending plant is located in the Rosva industrial park near Kaluga city, 180 kilometers southeast of Moscow. Construction began in 2011. Michigan Banishes Bullseye

Michigan issued stop-use and stop-removal orders on oils from Bullseye Automotive Lubricants of Illinois this week, the states second such mandate in a month. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development announced in an Oct. 7 press release a ban on products bearing the Bullseye name, asserting that the lubricants made by Bullseye Automotive Lubricants Inc. can damage engines. Boss Grows in Canada

Boss Lubricants added a new warehouse and blending facility in Edmonton, Canada, to grow its opportunities to supply and service the northern Alberta market. American Refining Group is the first oil refinery granted license to use the Made in USA Certified Seal for its Brad Penn lubricants, Kensol naphthas and distillates, and Kendex base oils, custom blends, waxes and resins. Renewable oil and bioproducts firm Solazyme entered the textile lubricants market via a commercial supply agreement with Goulston Technologies.
