Base Oil Reactor Sails on Long Voyage

Two units that are key to an upgrade project reach Gazprom Neft’s base oil plant in Omsk, Russia, last week culminating a complex and multi-phase journey of more than 9,000 kilometers. The plant is now closer to producing API Group II and III base stocks.

Slow Start for France’s Lube Sales

France’s lubricant consumption fell by more than 10% in in January, compared to the same month in 2020, ending a streak of five consecutive months of lubricant sales topping year-earlier results. According to the Professional Lubricants Center’s latest statistics, lubricant sales in France declined 11% to 43,078 metric tons in January, down from 48,595 tons.

Rerefiner Delisted from AIM Exchange

AIM, the London Stock Exchange’s market for small and medium growth companies, today issued a notice cancelling trading of United Kingdom-based transformer oil rerefiner Hydrodec’s shares because of its failure to meet a deadline for concluding a company audit. Trading of Hydrodec’s stock had been suspended since Oct. 1.

Chemical company BRB International announced last week the groundbreaking for a lubricant additive factory that it will operate Echt, Netherlands – an indication that the Petronas subsidiary is still growing.
