Chinese lubricant blender Shengbaolu Petrochemical Co., known as Sarlboro, recently completed construction of and commissioned its second blending plant in Tianjin.

Tsuno Group, a Japanese chemical company, announced the launch of fatty acid esters made from used cooking oil. The lubricant industry’s use of esters has grown steadily for the past couple decades.

Japanese specialty lubricant maker Moresco Corp. reported increased sales for its specialty lubricants, boosted by increased automobile production in several key regions – including Southeast and South Asia – while decreased data center investment cut its synthetic lubricant sales for its first fiscal quarter ended in May.
