Chinese Blender Commissions Second Plant

Chinese lubricant blender Shengbaolu Petrochemical Co., known as Sarlboro, recently completed construction of and commissioned its second blending plant in Tianjin.

In addition to lubricant blending, the facility includes a new grease production line.

Located in Tianjin’s Jizhou Economic Development Zone, the new facility has capacity to make 40,000 metric tons of lubricants per year, the company said in a July 21 press release about the completion and commissioning ceremony held for the new facility.

The company said the facility also has a grease plant that can produce a variety of grease types, including those using lithium, lithium complex, polyurea, anhydrous calcium, complex calcium sulfonate and other types of thickeners. It did not disclose the capacity of the grease plant.

The fluid lubricant portion of the facility has 14 filling lines, which can fill 1,200 barrels per hour at the fastest speed and has 22 base oil store tanks with capacity of more than 20,000 tons, the company noted. The site also features a test laboratory with equipment to measure physical and chemical characteristics and to analyze samples of products, including lubricating greases.

Sarlboro was established in 2003 and currently manufactures and markets automotive lubricants for both internal combustion engines and new energy vehicles, industrial lubricants, marine lubricants, construction machinery oil, railway diesel locomotive engine oil, grease, process oil and metal processing oils, among other products.
