Blue Tide Completes First Phase of Project

Blue Tide Environmental announced today completion of the first phase of its base oils rerefinery in Baytown, Texas – a low-sulfur vacuum gasoil plant. Work has started on the second phase of the project, which was undertaken in cooperation with joint venture partner Pennzoil-Quaker State Co., a subsidiary of Shell.

Valvoline Posts Big Jump in Earnings

Valvoline Inc. reported a 114% jump in operating income and a 12% increase in net sales revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31, which is the first quarter of the company’s 2024 fiscal year.

Schaeffer Acquires Hicks Oils

St. Louis-based lubricants blender Schaeffer Manufacturing Co. acquired the lubricants business of Hicks Oils & Hicksgas Inc., in southern Illinois, citing the appeal of Hicks’ experienced employees and having another plant in a second city. The cost was not disclosed.

Interlube Bought by Biochemical Company

Earth Alive Clean Technologies, a Canadian engineering company in the biochemical sector, acquired Interlube Inc. a Quebec-based producer of biodegradable lubricants for industrial segments, including mining and construction.
