Lanxess is launching an organic friction modifier for synthetic and mineral passenger car engine oils. Additin RC 3502 was developed to reduce friction with a non-corrosive friction modifier, meeting the requirements for fuel economy gains in the upcoming ILSAC GF-6 specification, the company says. The product provides antiwear protection and performs over an extended drain interval, typically up to 20,000 miles.
