Historical engine oil data for 2017 is now available on the Institute of Materials’ online database, which was launched a year ago. New features include an increased collection of data about SAE 5W-20, 0W-20 and 0W-16 low viscosity oils, additional emphasis on heavy-duty diesel engine oils, more market brands analyzed and more oils from the Africa region, the company says. The data goes back to the year 2005, and the databases can be divided regionally or customized to filter engine oil information by year, brand name, supplier, SAE viscosity grade, service class, oil type, engine type, country or region, IOM adds.
