ExxonMobil and GE have collaborated to develop Mobil SHC 918 EE, a new turbine oil designed for use in GE’s multi-shaft 7HA, 9HA, 6FA.01 and 7FA gas turbines. The companies claim that the oil can improve bearing efficiency by up to 15 percent compared to conventional ISO VG 32 turbine oils and is the first and only oil to meet GE’s Energy Efficient GEK 121603 specification.
