Chevron’s Meropa MG gear oils are designed for use in industrial and marine clutched gear systems where extreme load and shock load protection is required. According to the company, the oils provide extreme pressure protection and defend against deposit formation and corrosion. They are also designed to offer long lubricant life and good wear protection with high load carrying capacity. The oils are suitable for use in clutched gearboxes required to pass the Ortlinghaus clutch test. 
Chevron also released the Caltex Meropa Elitesyn XM series, which it says is an improved formula of synthetic industrial gear oils designed for use in gearboxes that operate under severe loads and at high temperatures. Appropriate applications include mining, construction and manufacturing. The series is available in ISO 150 through ISO 680 viscosity grades in the Asia-Pacific region. Web: www.chevron.com
