Podcast 30: Leveling the UK Lubricant Playing Field

Share

An unprecedented volume of cheap lubricant is flooding the U.K. market, stifling competition and threatening the livelihoods of the country’s 20 blenders and their workforce. So much so that Mark Lord, managing director of Aztec Oils, has been waging a one-man crusade to level the playing field.

Mark took his concerns to the U.K.’s Trade Remedies Authority, which recently released its interim assessment of the evidence gathered since June last year. The TRA agrees with Mark and has proposed tariffs and an upfront payment against future duties.

Mark talks to Tim Sullivan, executive editor of Lubes’n’Greases, about the case, its implications and Mark’s tenacious drive to level the playing field.
