Twenty-five years ago, Lisa Tocci, Nancy Demarco and Gloria Steinberg Briskin hunkered down in the new headquarters of their nascent publishing company.
The surroundings in Glorias basement were far from glamorous, but it turned out to be the perfect incubator for LNG Publishing Co. The first issue of LubesnGreases was published in April 1995, and within just nine months, the business was profitable.
After 18 months, LNG emerged from the underground lair and took up residence in a proper office space. Weve been racing forward ever since, keeping on top of a changing industry and ensuring that our readers have the information they need to keep their own businesses at the top of their game.
Weve added more publications (Lube Report email newsletters, LubesnGreases Europe-Middle East-Africa, LubesnGreases Perspective on Electric Vehicles, Workplace Trends Report) and data products (the yearly Guides to Global Base Oil Refining, base oil price reports, LubesnGreases Factbook, Lubricants Industry Directory). All three of our founders are retired now, and 20 full-time people, plus columnists and freelance writers, carry on the torch.
Columnist Jack Goodhue noted that Lisa told him she never had any doubt the business would be successful-and thats exactly why it was. But Id add another crucial piece to the reason for our success: our loyal readers in this welcoming industry. We couldnt have done it without you.
