Chevron Lowers Ash

Delo 600 ADF, a new heavy-duty engine oil produced by Chevron, contains just 0.4 percent sulfated ash, which reduces the rate of diesel particulate filter clogging and can improve fuel economy retention by as much as 3 percent, the company claims. The oil meets API CK-4 specifications and has demonstrated good oxidation stability in industry, OEM and field tests, as well as extended drain intervals. The oil delivers good valvetrain wear protection and piston deposit performance and hit the market in December in SAE 15W-40 and SAE 10W-30 viscosity grades. Web: www.chevronlubricants.com

Rotella for Gas Engines

Shell unveiled Rotella T4 NG Plus 15W-40, a heavy-duty engine oil formulated to provide engine protection under a full range of pressures and temperatures in mobile natural gas engines, as well as gasoline and diesel fueled vehicles. According to the company, the oil offers piston and engine cleanliness, ignition system protection and emissions system compatibility. Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic SAE 0W-40 heavy-duty diesel engine oil also made its debut. The product meets API CK-4 specifications and is designed for use in on- and off-road vehicles and equipment. Web: rotella.shell.com

Grease While Gone

Petro-Canada Lubricants launched Grease-N-Go, an automatic lubricator designed to apply the correct amount of lubricant at the right time. The lubricator is refillable and can be mounted in areas that are difficult to reach, which can reduce safety hazards, maintenance costs and equipment downtime. Grease-N-Go is available in 125 milliliter and 250 ml sizes for seven of the companys grease products in its Purity FG, Peerless and Precision product lines and can be used in the food manufacturing, general manufacturing and heavy-duty industries. Safe Unloading

Flexicons Bulk-out Model BFF bulk bag discharger keeps workers clear of moving parts while unloading bulk bags. The steel safety cage features externally mounted controls and full height doors that automatically halt operation when they are open. The discharger fully automates the unloading process, and the hopper can be connected to optional pneumatic or mechanical conveyors and other downstream equipment. Web: www.flexicon.com

Turbine Oil

Exxon Mobil and GE have collaborated to develop Mobil SHC 918 EE, a new turbine oil designed for use in GEs multi-shaft 7HA, 9HA, 6FA.01 and 7FA gas turbines. The companies claim that the oil can improve bearing efficiency by up to 15 percent compared to conventional ISO VG 32 turbine oils and is the first and only oil to meet GEs Energy Efficient GEK 121603 specification. The oil also has good thermal stability, which limits the development of varnish in turbines. Web: lubricants

Wire Rope Lube

Rope-Tek PBL3700 Eco is Metalubes wire rope build lubricant for making wire rope for ships. It can be applied at temperatures as low as 50 degrees Celsius and accommodates an operating temperature of up to 110 C. The lubricant is resistant to moisture, protects against corrosion and is fully biodegradable and non-toxic to aquatic organisms, the company says. It is also fully compliant with the United States Environmental Protection Agencys Vessel General Permit and carries the European Unions Eco-label certification. Web: www.metalube.co.uk

Oils for Off-road

Yamaha Motors Corp. USA rolled out two new fully synthetic engine oils designed for use in off-road engines. The GP Racing Spec oil is a competition blend and offers high thermal resistance, optimization of engine power and enhanced clutch and shifting performance, while the Hi-Performance oil provides durability, thermal stability and increased fuel efficiency, the company claims. Both oils are available in SAE 10W-40 viscosity grade and meet industry standards, including JASO MA for four-stroke engines. Web: Yamaha-motor.com

Transport Tank

Hillebrand, a global service provider in the transport of products that require special care, introduced a new flexitank, which enables the transportation of non-hazardous liquids in temperature-controlled conditions. The tank is available in both dry and temperature-controlled 40-foot containers, and its design enables contents to be loaded and discharged from a single point with minimal residue remaining. The company says the tank also incorporates patented wave breaking technology to mitigate risk by dampening the surging of the liquid during transport and preventing container bulging. Opt for Automatic

CAMaster, a manufacturer ofcomputer numerical control production solutions, introduced a new automatic lubrication system as an optional feature available on its CNC Routers, which can be used for aluminum machining. The CAMaster Auto Lube System eliminates the need to manually grease each bearing and ball screw and automatically applies the right amount of grease to each component, protecting against premature wear of the ball screw, bearings and linear rails. Since lubrication occurs while the machine is in operation, the Auto Lube System reduces downtime and is able to lubricate components in an abrasive or high-dust environment. The system can be used only on new CNC machines. Web: www.camaster.com
