The packaging features a pull-tab, a spout that provides more accurate pouring, an anti-glug tube and a non-slip resealable overcap that snaps closed to prevent spillage, the oil blender says. Valvoline adds that the new bottles are color-coded for differentiating products and also have a streamlined labeling system that prominently displays the oil grade on the front as well as an oil comparison chart on the back. Amsoil is confronting low-speed pre-ignition in turbocharged and direct injection engines with a new formulation of its Signature Series-branded synthetic motor oil. The product increases protection against loss of horsepower and wear by lubricating components with metal-to-metal contact such as pistons and cams, the company boasts. The oil also defends engine parts against sludge formation, improves thermal stability during cold start-up and lowers oil consumption for extended drain intervals of up to 25,000 miles, Amsoil claims. Plugging in a grease gun is now a bygone task with Lumaxs RoboLuber. The heavy-duty cordless grease gun runs on a 20-volt lithium-ion battery up to a maximum operating pressure of 10,000 psi, the company says. Oxea Gets Halal Certification
Oxea Corp.s pelargonic acid is now compliant with Islamic requirements for food preparation. Chemically known as
n-nonanoic acid, the compound is used as an intermediate in various applications, such as the production of high-performance synthetic lubricant esters. The acid is colorless, has low odor and is soluble in ether and alcohols, and represents a low-cost alternative to fatty acids including caprylic (C8) and capric acid (C10), the company says. For the certification, we established a HACCP [Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points] system, just as we would have needed it for a foodstuff approval, noted Gunther Becker, director of product stewardship and quality management at Oxea. The companys product and manufacturing processes have been audited and certified by Islamic Services of America, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based food safety certification organization. Ecstar Rolls Out in India
Suzuki passenger car drivers in India can count on improved engine performance with the companys Ecstar genuine motor oils, recently launched in the country through subsidiary Maruti Suzuki India. The product range includes fully synthetic SAE 0W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 gasoline engine oils, SAE 0W-30 C2, 5W-30 C2 and 5W-30 C4 diesel engine oils, and three SAE 10W-40 four-stroke motorcycle oils. The company did not specify which oils will be released in the market first. The motor oils reduce friction, enhance engine cleanliness by preventing sludge formation and deposit buildup, and provide thermal stability in extreme cold and high load conditions, the company boasts. The oil formulations also provide higher fuel economy.
