Publishers Letter

A year and a half ago, we launched Lube Report Asia, a weekly e-mail newsletter dedicated to breaking news, base oil pricing information and objective, in-depth coverage of issues related to Asia-Pacific.
While North America and Western Europe are viewed as stable and mature, Asia-Pacific consumes some 42 percent of the worlds lubricants each year, and readers everywhere have been hungry for reliable, accurate information about its growth. Advertisers, meanwhile, have hungered for assurance that they are reaching active participants in the lubricants industry.
Im delighted to report that Lube Report Asia has successfully completed its first audit by BPA Worldwide, an achievement that validates the authenticity of its subscriber list. The audit demonstrates that advertisers are reaching a scrupulously screened group of targeted readers (just as they do with LubesnGreases magazine). Publishers of print and online news sources may volunteer to have their subscriber lists audited by BPA as a way of proving to advertisers that individuals receiving their publications have requested them.
According to the BPA audit, Lube Report Asias verified circulation is 8,006 (based on the Dec. 30, 2014, analyzed issue) throughout Asia and the rest of the world – roughly twice what it was 12 months earlier. Whats more, 100 percent of Lube Report Asias net circulation is qualified. That is, every single reader has requested/opted in to receive it every week. No other publisher serving Asias lubricants industry offers that proof of quality readership.
Credit for this achievement belongs to Tim Sullivan, the publications editor, and to Sheryl Unangst, LNG Publishings director of audience development. Their tenacity and dedication in launching Lube Report Asia and delivering it into the hands of subscribers has been awesome to behold. In todays ultra-competitive marketplace, Sheryl reminded me, transparency and trust have never been more important, which is why Lube Report Asia chose to have its circulation verified by an independent third-party, BPA Worldwide.
