Nippon USA Adds Hydraulic Fluids

Nippon Oil (USA) is ushing beyond automotive lubricant production and is now making industrial lubricants already popular in Japan. In January, the Childersburg, Ala., blender began making Super Hyrando SE, a zinc-free antiwear hydraulic oil designed to save energy. The fluid is formulated with advanced friction modifiers which help reduce the amount of input energy that is often lost in energy-intensive hydraulics,such as injection molding and die casting. Unveiled recently in Germany, Shell Ensis PL 1608 is a microwax-free prelube oil that boasts excellent anti-corrosion protection and optimal deep-drawing properties. Because it is microwax-free, it can be applied at room temperature, and dispensed directly from the storage container with no need to heat up the prelube system. This saves time and energy costs, Shell says. The oil film spreads uniformly, remains stable, and can be wiped off much more easily than comparable products, while the risk of blocked filters is also markedly reduced.
