Publishers Letter

Share

I think my favorite department in LubesnGreases is Letters to the Editor. We have some amazingly savvy, funny, passionate, erudite, opinionated readers. Many of you have been loyal readers for more than a decade, and you havent been shy about praising or panning the sometimes-controversial positions that David McFall, Jack Goodhue, Tom Glenn and many others express in these pages.

Managing editor Lisa Tocci loves to hear from you and to publish your views about stories in LubesnGreases that tickle your fancy or light your fuse. Dont miss the letters this month, starting on page 34. You can reach Lisa at lisa@LNGpublishing.com.

2006 promises to be another spectacular year at LubesnGreases. Well be offering you many valuable extras: a completely updated Lubricants Industry Sourcebook in July; all-new Global Guides to Lubricant Base Stocks – those wonderful wall charts – with our guide to the worlds mineral base oil re?neries in June and the nonconventional base stock guide in September; and our biennial U.S. Lubricants Industry Salary Survey, coming later in the year.

But we cant provide these eagerly awaited publications without your help. This month we send U.S. and Canadian companies our annual request to update their information for the Sourcebook. The listing is free, but please return the short survey as soon as possible – and keep in mind that only companies that respond will be included in the 2006 Sourcebook.

Best of all, every month well put a timely, thought-provoking issue of LubesnGreases in your hands. Like this one, our annual Outlook Issue: Theres Tim Sullivans terri?c piece on the staggering expansion at Motivas Port Arthur plant (page 14). Top industry executives discuss the future of engine oils (page 20). Plus the forecast for bright stock, test developments, marketing strategies and more. Enjoy!
