How Does Your Pay Compare?
A huge Thank you! goes to the more than 150 lubricant industry professionals who responded to our 2017 EMEA Lubricants Industry Salary Survey. Thanks to these anonymous participants, we are able to bring you our first-ever report on lube industry compensation in Europe.
The report details the compensation for sales and marketing professionals and laboratory/R&D managers in the Eurozone. The full detailed report will be available for purchase starting August 1 at www.LubesnGreases.com.
One hundred seven marketing and sales professionals reported their annual compensation, with a median of 95,000. Compensation is significantly higher at lubricant manufacturers (median salary of 100,000) than at distributors that do not manufacture lubes (being compensated to the tune of 75,743 on average, with a median salary of 60,000). As a group, they manage an average of 13 people.
Forty-seven laboratory/R&D managers reported a median yearly salary of 77,000. All respondents in this category are employed at lubricant manufacturers. The average number of people they supervise is 8.
More than one-third of respondents in both categories report working for companies with 11 to 200 employees. About 40 percent work for the largest firms (more than 500 employees).
If you plan to use the results in any way, either as an employer or a job seeker, I urge you to obtain the complete report. It will have breakdowns by tenure, employer size, geographic region and more. There are significant differences based on these factors and others. And the data thats relevant to you or your company might differ sharply from the highlights in our magazine story, which begins on
