Shell Marine has introduced Alexia 140 marine diesel cylinder oil that the company says protects modern ultra-efficient diesel engines against cold corrosion while optimizing oil feed rates. Nye Lubricants has introduced Rheolube 460 Series synthetic hydrocarbon greases thickened with lithium soap. The company says the greases demonstrate improved load carrying ability, antiwear performance, excellent oxidative stability and superior corrosion resistance. Rheolube 462, the first grease in the series, is for use at temperatures as low as -40 degrees C in rolling bearings for small motors, sliding surfaces, geartrains, switch gears and electrical components such as window lifters, sun roofs, seats and fan flaps.
