Food-Grade Chain Oil

Fuchs has launched Cassida Chain Oil HTE, a synthetic, high-temperature chain lubricant for food and beverage processing equipment. It can be used on the chains of travelling ovens in environments such as bakeries. The lubricant is ISO 21469 certified and registered by NSF (Class H1) for use where there is potential for incidental food contact. The company says Cassida Chain Oil HTE is thermally stable up to 240 degrees C, exhibits low evaporation loss and has excellent corrosion resistance. It can be applied by brush, automatic lubrication systems or drip feed lubricator.

Biobased Specialty Chemicals

Dako AG has launched specialty chemicals, including 90 percent pure oleic acid, esters and emulsifiers, based on renewable resources. The raw materials are produced in cooperation with farmers living in the immediate vicinity of the companys production site. The company says its process eliminates the environmental disadvantages of conventional manufacturing processes such as hot steam, bleaching or metal catalysts. The end products are free of catalyst residue and have high hydrolytic and high oxidation stability.

Grease Is Safe Near Water

Lubrication Engineers Inc. has introduced Earthwise EAL wire rope grease, a certified Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant, recommended for use in applications on or near waterways. The company says it meets the specifications required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys Vessel General Permit, is readily biodegradable, exhibits minimal aquatic toxicity and will not accumulate in the cells of fish and other aquatic life forms. Earthwise EAL wire rope grease is an NLGI 0 grease to coat wire rope as well as moving chain and cable parts.

Oil Meets M-B Diesel Specs

Exol Lubricants announced that its fully synthetic, multigrade engine oil, Optima LSG 5W-30, now has a low SAPS additive package, allowing it to be used in Mercedes-Benz diesel cars fitted with diesel particulate filters. The company says the oil also provides extended drain intervals, fuel efficiency, high engine cleanliness, antiwear and oxidation stability and high and low temperature performance.
