Shell has launched an artificial intelligence-driven service called Shell Virtual Assistant. The company says that this interactive one-stop shop on its website provides answers to customers and distributors lubricant-related questions. This service is available to customers and distributors in the United Kingdom and United States. Besides answering questions, the service can attend to requests for brochures, technical data sheets and safety data sheets. Virtual Assistant can also make product recommendations based on customers equipment by linking them to an online service where they can find the right lubricants for their vehicles and equipment.

Gear Oil Has Staying Power

NCH Europe has launched Top Blend multiviscosity, multipurpose gear oil for enclosed gear systems. Top Blend is available in several grades, including 80W-90 and 85W-140. Applications include industrial, food and beverage, packaging, processing and automotive. The company says Top Blend can last up to four times longer than conventional gear oils. The gear oil incorporates adhesive polymers, tackifiers, antifoam, anticorrosive and antifriction agents, emulsifiers, detergents, pour depressants, shock-load reducers and leak inhibitors.
