Wire Rope & Umbilical Grease

Biogen Wireshield from Rocol is a wire rope and umbilical lubricant with a temperature range of minus 50 to +180 degrees C. The company says that this allows offshore operators to use a single lubricant in all operating conditions. Biogen Wireshield is certified under the EU Ecolabel as an Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant to comply with the requirements of the latest U.S. Vessel General Permit. In salt spray testing, the lubricant has demonstrated excellent corrosion resistance, with no galvanic reaction after 1,000 hours.

Grease Resists Washout

Lubrita WR OH Grease Red is an anhydrous calcium thickened grease based on a mixture of mineral oil and polymer. The grease contains antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors and extreme pressure and antiwear additives. The company says the thickener and base oil blend makes the product suitable for the lubrication of heavily loaded parts and in wet and corrosive environments. It was developed specifically for harvester head lubrication, marine applications and as a universal grease for forestry, agricultural and construction vehicles. The grease is also suitable for industrial applications where water washout and corrosion are problematic.

Die Lube Keeps Tools Cool

Oelheld announced the launch of AirForge 4500, a water-miscible, fully synthetic die-lubricant for hot forming. The lubricant is suitable for Hatebur presses and on applications where full-flood lubrication is needed. On contact with hot surfaces, AirForge 4500 forms a film that controls the heat transfer between the tool and workpiece. The company says that the fluids solubility guarantees reduced build-up on dies and presses and ensures clean castings.

Oils for Waste Gas Engines

Engen Petroleum has introduced a series of oils for engines running on gases found in nature and as by-products of industrial processes, including natural gas, biogas (landfill and sewage gases), coal seam gas (coal mine and coal bed gases) and furnace gases (from steel, ferrochrome, ferromanganese and calcium carbide production plants). GEO oils are formulated for use in three applications. GEO BL-40 low-ash oil is for use with landfill gas and biogas. GEO LL-40 is for use in spark-ignited gas engines burning natural gas. Finally, the company says Engen GEO N-40 provides the highest levels of engine protection and optimized performance.
