Lube Analysis Service
Exol Lubricants has launched a fluid analysis service to help machine operators detect contaminants and wear particles that can cause early machine failure. Operators draw a sample of fluid from their machine and send it to Exol for testing. The results are then posted to a secure web portal that operators can access to download the test data. The data will indicate whether the fluid needs to be changed, so maintenance can be scheduled before a failure occurs.

Biodegradable Wire Rope Lubes
Metalube has launched Rope-Tek WRD range of biodegradable lubricants designed to protect steel wire ropes. The company says that each product is formulated from high-performance base oils and thickeners, and contains an additive system that minimizes friction and wear and provides corrosion protection. The solids contained in Rope-Tek form a low friction barrier between the metal surfaces, minimizing friction and wear. The lubricants are available in 18-kilogram pails and 180-kg drums. Temperature range is minus 40 to +130 degrees C.

Ravensberger Schmierstoffvertrieb GmbH has introduced Ravenol EFE SAE 0W-16 engine oil that meets the requirements of API SN. The oil is formulated with trinuclearem molybdenum and organic friction modifiers that the company says improve fuel economy and extend engine life

Particle Counter Integrates Dilution System
Pamas S50DP automatic particle counter has an integrated system that automatically dilutes dark sample fluids prior to measurement, reducing the samples turbidity. The system thoroughly mixes the solvent and sample fluid to provide a homogeneous mixture. The S50DP counts particles in eight size classes from 4 to 70 micrometers. It measures sample fluids with a maximum concentration of up to 24,000 particles per milliliter.

Odor-Free Cutting Fluid
Oelheld has launched DiaMill HEF 1100 coolant for turning, milling, drilling, hobbing, and cutting operations in CNC-controlled machining centers. DiaMill HEF 1100 is based on hydrocrack oils, and company says it has nearly no odor, high shear stability and aging resistance. The product contains no chlorine or heavy metals. DiaMill HEF 1100 is also said to have low vaporization and misting tendency. Flash point is greater than 150 degrees C. DiaMill HEF 1100 is for use on high-alloy steel, cast iron and nonferrous metals.
