Passing the Torch
Ive enjoyed an amazing 30-plus years in the lubricants industry, the first dozen as executive director of the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association and the last two decades as publisher (and one of three founders and owners) of the LubesnGreases family of publications. Now its time to step down. Im eager to embrace that mysterious new phase of life called retirement.
Before giving up this bully pulpit, I want to thank LubesnGreases many, many friends and supporters in this wonderful industry. Without you, there would be no LubesnGreases. Thank you for challenging us always to adhere to the highest journalistic standards. Thank you for your advertising support. Thank you for your warm friendships.
I want to thank the terrific team of professionals here at LNG Publishing Co., who have supported us, pushed us and executed our shared vision. My colleagues – art directors Greg and Cardo; Tim, Dick, Michele, George, Boris, Gabriela, Joe and Raquel in editorial; Sheryl and Robert in circulation; and Megan, Laura and Bronte in advertising and production – put in the long hard hours to bring you the magazines, newsletters and other information products you count on.
Most of all, I want to thank my partners Lisa Tocci and Gloria Steinberg Briskin. Their passion, integrity and commitment are unsurpassed. I am the luckiest person in the world to count Lisa and Gloria as my partners and friends.
Its a real pleasure to introduce our new publisher, Howard Briskin. Howard joined LNG Publishing Co. 20 months ago as president, and effective January 1 he assumes the additional role of publisher. Howard is uniquely qualified to lead this growing company, and I know Im leaving LNG in extraordinarily able hands.
