Cortec Corp. has developed EcoLine 3680, a biodegradable, ready-to-use temporary coating for multimetal protection. EcoLine 3680 is formulated with USDA renewable raw materials; which allows its use for corrosion protection of equipment where incidental contact with food is possible. The products HX-1 approval is pending. When applied to a surface, EcoLine 3680 leaves a dry protective coating that is self-healing and moisture-displacing to provide protection even against aggressive environments. MAN Approves HD Oil
Shell Rimula R6 LME heavy-duty synthetic diesel engine oil has been approved by MAN to meet its M 3677 oil specification, suitable for its Euro 6 engines. The company says that the SAE 5W-30 oil has been independently shown to deliver up to 2.0 percent fuel savings over 100,000-kilometer oil drain interval compared to typical 10W-40 oils. This approval joins those from other OEMs, including Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. Shell Rimula R6 LME comprises synthetic base oil technology, advanced additives and an antiwear booster system. Synthetic Ester for Food Grade Products
Nyco has gained NSF HX-1 registration for Nycobase 20307 FG, a low viscosity synthetic ester. The product adds to the companys list of ester base fluids approved for use in H1 lubricants with incidental food contact. Products in the Nycobase FG series are also Halal and Kosher certified and have high biodegradability. The company says the products exhibit superior thermal stability and good low temperature properties. The esters are available in a wide range of viscosities.www.nyco.fr
Synthetic Gear Grinding Fluid
Oelheld U.S. has introduced SintoGrind 353 gear grinding fluid formulated from synthetic base stocks. The company says the fluid was formulated for demanding grinding tasks and handles hardened steels in excess of 65 Rockwell. Its lubricity helps extend wheel life and minimizes heat build-up in the workpiece.
