Sustainable Industrial Lubricants

Clariant has announced a portfolio of EcoTain products for industrial lubricants. The company says that lubricants carrying the EcoTain label safe-guard the health of the people who produce and use them. Products that carry the EcoTain label include Emulsogen emulsifiers, Hostacor corrosion inhibitors, Hostagliss lubricity improvers, Hordaphos EP/AW additives and an Emulsogen metalworking package. The products applications range from water-based, semi-synthetic and synthetic metalworking fluids to HFA and HFC fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, as well as metal cleaners and rolling emulsions. Nonferrous Drawing Oil

Rhenus Lub GmbH & Co KG has developed Rhenus DU 42 P drawing oil for use in profiling operations on nonferrous metals and aluminum. The company says the chlorine-free oil produces clean, bright-polished surfaces. It has been used in deep drawing of aluminum sleeves and extrusion of brass alloys in the manufacture of contact pins for Euro plugs. Rhenus DU 42 P has a viscosity of 42 millimeters squared per second and can be sprayed or drizzled onto the lubricating surfaces where it forms a uniform, thin film of grease. www.rhenuslub.com

Oxidation-Resistant Turbine Oil Additive

Lubrizol Corp. has introduced Lubrizol RO94HA turbine oil additive that the company says provides excellent thermal and oxidative stability. This additive technology is also said to provide good filterability, rust and corrosion protection, and water separation characteristics, including the steam demulsibility test. It is for use in either geared or ungeared turbine systems and has been approved by major turbine manufacturers and meets the requirements of industry specifications, including Siemens TLV 9013 04 and TLV 9013 05, ASTM D4304, DIN 51524, BS 489 and GEK 32568G.
