Dear Editor,
I was disappointed in the tone of the article Cross Talk (Issue Number 29, October 2011) as I feel it did not reflect the spirit of my contributions. During our communications and in my review of the article, I believe I clearly brought forth the need for balanced recognition of the pumpability efforts of the CEC as well as the technical background generated in earlier North American studies, which might help in these CEC efforts. Simply stated, I believe that all technical efforts are positive in generating further understanding and progress.
I do not believe that Europe and America are at odds regarding low-temperature pumpability, as the subheadline stated. I also believe the article was written in a way that implied contention where none was intended.
I have also started a blog, at www.ted-selby.com, that carries my views and information on the subject of this article as well as other areas that may be of interest.
Sincerely,
Ted Selby
