Itty-Bitty Particle Sensor

Pamas Scattered Light Sensor SLS-25/25 counts contaminant particles as small as 0.5 microns. Such particles circulating at high pressure and speed can damage mechanical parts in gearboxes, power plants, turbines and offshore application systems and can create health risks in water supplies or pharmaceutical solutions.

For quick, reliable and objective liquid analysis the scattered light sensor measures the light pulse of each particle in an illuminated flow volume. This technology can be used to maintain quality and prevent damage or mechanical failures. Use it in hydraulics systems, aviation turbines and in the auto, oil and filter industries.

Automate Quality Testing

Qualoupe Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) from Two Fold Software simplifies management for testing raw materials, intermediate and finished products and site samples – ensuring quality control and legislative compliance. The system can be integrated with MRP and ERP systems and streamline workflow using the configurable user interface.

Qualoupe improves key performance indicator reporting and work order processing; reduces production waste, transcription errors and double data entry; and increases sample throughput without additional manpower, the company says. It can quickly assign testing methods to specified production phases and automatically generate certificates of approval, and it provides tailored reports with graphs and trend analysis.

Less Risk, More Reaction

Convert a standard hotplate stirrer into a reaction block for a 500 ml flask, three 5- to 250-ml flasks or up to 12 reaction tubes using Asynts DrySyn Multi-M. It heats 25 percent faster and is safer than flammable, toxic oil baths, and its less expensive and more efficient than multiple heating mantles.

The Multi-Ms shallow well shape increases reaction visibility and reduces the potential for glass fractures, while the companys three-way Multi clamps hold flasks in place. Anodized aluminum construction provides heating performance over 300 degrees C and magnetic stirring compatibility.

High Viscosity PAOs

Chevron Phillips Chemical will begin producing Synfluid mPAO 40 cSt and 100 cSt for a range of automotive and industrial applications such as automotive lubes, gear oils and greases. These high viscosity metallocene polyalphaolefins derived from non-decene alpha olefin feedstocks offer pour point and viscosity advantages. This proprietary technology will better meet the application challenges faced by formulators today, says Chevron Phillips Chemical. Evaluation quantities will be offered this quarter, with bulk availability projected for later this year.
