Keeping Your Social Distance but Growing Closer Together
The pandemic unleashed by the novel coronavirus has plunged our world into a health crisis and brought the global economy to a screeching halt. As the death toll continues to climb and we descend into what some analysts predict will be the worst recession of our lifetime, it is difficult to spot rays of hope, and yet they are there.
We see the inherent tenacity and fortitude of human nature in our medical professionals who are saving lives in the face of great peril to their own. Workers across the world remain productive without commuting for hours in the morning and evening. Parents of school-age children realize that teachers should be paid more. And we’ve learned none of us needs quite that much toilet paper.
As we await the restoration of some kind of normality, this period of physical distancing allows us to reassess relationships, both personal and professional, and focus on what makes them valuable: transparency, acceptance and community.
The now very attractive price of crude may tempt people back into their internal combustion engine cars, but we are seeing other examples of something positive from this industry – a rapid mobilization to sanitizer and disinfectant production.
At Lubes’n’Greases, we hope you and your loved ones remain safe and sound and that our industry will emerge from this difficult period more resilient, innovative and agile.
