Lube on a Long Thin Wire
United Kingdom-based specialist lubricants company Metalube is trialing a new range of copper wire drawing products called Lubricool that it will launch at Wire, the international wire and cable trade fair, this April in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The products are semi-synthetic and synthetic grades that, the company says, provide longer sump life through lower interaction with copper, higher lubrication using oxidatively stable synthetic esters and polymers, and increased detergency using specially selected non-ionic emulsifiers which offer more stability in high-conductivity conditions. The Lubricool range is available in 205 liter drums or 1,000 liter intermediate bulk containers.
Metalube is also offering a new range of food-safe chain oils with high thermal stability, reduced carbon and varnish deposits and optimized performance enhancing additives, the company said in a statement.
All the oils in the Metachain range have an operating temperature range of minus 30C to 300C and have been registered with NSF, a public health and safety organization.
