Global Marine Lube Growth Flat

Global marine lubricant consumption will stay flat, with 1 percent compound annual growth per year from 2013, reaching about 2.3 million tons by 2023, consultancy Kline & Co. projected. Alkylamines Maker Taminco Fetches $2.8B

Eastman Chemical plans to acquire alkylamines and alkylamine derivatives producer Taminco for $2.8 billion cash, under an agreement that includes a 30-day period for Taminco to solicit and consider alternative proposals. The transaction, amounting to $26 per Taminco share, was approved by each companys board of directors. RSC Bio Solutions opened a warehouse in Rotterdam, Netherlands, to distribute its biobased lubricants to European customers, particularly in the marine sector. Russias Gazprom Neft Lubricants and Rosmorport, a major icebreaker fleet operator, signed a marine oils supply deal as part of a long-term strategy to increase the lube manufacturers share in the Russian lubricant market.
