Forgelube Launched

Two optimistic entrepreneurs have launched Forgelube, an independent manufacturer of process and forging lubricants, in Monterrey, Mexico.

Oscar Lozano Butzmann and Gustavo G. Schiuma are managing directors and fifty-fifty owners of the new company, which is already blending its own products, marketed under the Lubrika and Rollfor brands.

Butzmann joined the lubricants industry in 1986 when he started at Lubdeco SA. From 2000 to earlier this year he was CEO of Lubdeco. Schiuma joined Acheson do Brasil in 1977, and moved to Igucima Industria de Lubrificantes in 1987, where he helped develop the companys process lubricants business. After Igucima was sold to Fuchs in 2007, Schiuma represented Condat Lubrifiants in South America, and in early 2009 he joined Butzmann to create Forgelube.

Asked how Forgelube can grow at a time when the forging and steel rolling industries are suffering because of declines in auto production, Schiuma replied, Forgelube is poised to gain market share because of proven formulas and products [that] will be offered at unmatched conditions of logistics, pricing and technical assistance. Plus, he added, there is a perceived weakness of current competition.
