Craft Buys One More Distributor

Craft Oil Corp. acquired lubricants distributor Total Lubrication Services and Supply LLC effective Jan. 2. The price was not disclosed.

Total Lubrication Services and Supply, which distributes ExxonMobil lubricants, has its main location in Lakewood, N.J., and a second location in Blackwood, N.J. Craft Oil President Robert Mills said the combined companies have about 95 employees. Total Lubrication Services primary focus was commercial and industrial, which plays into our continued growth in that marketplace, Mills told Lube Report.

The market Craft now covers includes Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey, he added. We had acquired Mauger and Co. and Dunlap Mellor and Company in March and April 2008, and this just continues our strategy to continue to fill in our marketplace, Millssaid. It just came about through relationships – that weve known each other, and it was the right fit for us.

Avoca, Pa.-based Craft Oil said it started its lubricant business with Quaker State Motor Oil in 1925 and is now the oldest Quaker State distributor in the country. It also distributes ExxonMobil, Shell, Pennzoil, BP Castrol and ServicePro lubricants, including transmission fluid, gear oils and greases. The company said its Avoca location has more than 300,000 gallons of bulk motor oil storage.

Craft also sells filters, automotive service equipment, oil lubrication equipment, chemicals, after market products and antifreeze.

Craft subsidiary Mauger and Co. of West Chester, Pa., distributes lubricants, along with offering oil heat, HVAC products and services,gasoline and diesel fuels. It was founded in 1964.

Dunlap Mellor and Co., Craft’s second acquisition last year, wasestablished in Philadelphia in 1918 andbecame one of Sunocos first distributors in the early 1970s. Dunlap, which became a 76 Lubricants distributor when Sunoco sold its lubricant business in April 2001, distributes lubricants, metalworking fluids and solvents. Dunlap said it has more than 185,000 gallons of bulk storage.
