Fuchs Petrolub AG acquired MS Fluid Technologies via its U.S. subsidiary Fuchs Lubricants Co. effective Oct. 1. Indianapolis-based MS Fluids products include drawing and stamping fluids, coolants, and metal finishing products. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

All MS Fluid Technology brands will be retained, Fuchs Lubricants Co. spokeswoman Dawn Peloso told Lube Report. The product lines will continue after the acquisition. Fuchs Lubricants Co. is based in Harvey, Ill.

According to its listing with the Precision Metalforming Associations Suppliers Buying Guide, MS Fluid Technologies has a 40,000 square foot facility. Paul Bosler, president of MS Fluid Technologies, said the company has about 40 employees.

“Most of our technical sales staff they actually have brought onto their payroll,”Bosler told Lube Report. “Most of my partners and field staff they have brought on as Fuchs employees.” Fuchs did not disclose whether it would retain all MS Fluid employees. Final decisions have not yet been made about whether to retain the Indianapolis facility, Peloso said.

Mannheim, Germany-based Fuchs Petrolub said the addition of the MS Fluid Technologies product portfolio will complement Fuchs existing line of forming lubricants and process cleaners.

MS Fluid is a leader in the formulation of synthetic drawing and stamping products, Fuchs Lubricants Peloso said, including the only automotive OEM approved synthetic drawing lube.

This line will complement Fuchs existing line of OEM auto approved products, she added. Additionally, MS Fluid Technologies broad cleaner portfolio will strengthen this portion of Fuchs product offering.

According to Fuchs Petrolub, the industrial lubricants business of MS Fluid Technologies generates annual sales of $11 million.
