French oil major Total has named T. Gargour & Fils as sole distributor of its Elf brand of lubricants in Jordan. A signing ceremony announcing the partnership was held in Amman, Jordan, on July 9.
Our aim is to build successful partnerships and alliances with local entities, in addition to bringing economic and social benefits to the countries that we operate within, said Francois de Ligniville, Total Refining and Marketings executive vice president, Mediterranean & Middle East.
Although Total Jordan, a 100 percent subsidiary of Total, was established in Jordan last year, the companys Total and Elf lubricant brands have been distributed throughout the Middle East kingdom for over ten years.
Elf lubricants include engine oils, gear oils, automatic transmission fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze, machine tool oils, cutting oils, rolling oils, chainsaw chain oils, gearbox and axle oils, among others. They serve the passenger and antique car, motorcycle, racing, industrial, agriculture, transport, construction, marine and aviation sectors.
Founded in 1928 by the late Tawfiq Gargour, T. Gargour & Fils is a privately-held, family-owned Jordanian company who owns car dealerships, and provides shipping and commercial maritime services. In Jordan, TGF is the sole agent of Mercedes-Benz, and an agent for Jeep, Dodge & Chrysler.
