The McPherson Companies Inc., parent company of McPherson Oil Products, said it has completed its purchase of the BP Castrol Heavy Duty lubricants distribution facility in College Park, Ga. Terms were not disclosed.

McPherson, which has leased and operated the facility since June 2006, said it plans to relocate its Georgia regional distribution center from downtown Atlanta to the College Park location in the second quarter of 2008.

The company has experienced significant growth in its Georgia operations, and the College Park location will provide them with expanded capacity and facilities as well as providing improved rail distribution capabilities, McPherson said.

It plans to invest $3 million into the College Park facility.

Our new facility will provide us the opportunity to more efficiently serve our customers as well as provide us a tremendous platform to continue our growth into this very important market, said company president Ken McPherson. We believe this new facility will allow us to continue our growth in the metro Atlanta markets as well as extending our reach throughout the entire state of Georgia.
