Royal Purple recently expanded its lubricant manufacturing facility with the addition of a new 10-tank, 300,000-gallon tank farm for bulk raw materials.

Marketing Vice President Mark McFann told Lube Report the tank farm is set up to ultimately hold 32 storage tanks and a total capacity of 960,000 gallons. The construction of the new tank farm began in June 2006 and was completed in January 2007, McFann said. The expansion was necessary to meet the growing demand on both the industrial and consumer sides of the business.

The expansion comes four years after completion of the companys new automated blending facility. We initially built the plant in anticipation of moderate, steady growth, said McFann. Were growing faster than anticipated, and were expanding to ensure that customers continue to receive the on-time fill rate theyve grown accustomed to.

The second farm will enable us to more than double our production run in just a single shift, said Production Manager Leigh McLellan.

Founded in 1986 and based in Porter, Texas, privately held Royal Purple has grown from a small industrial lubricants company toa largerproducer of synthetic lubricants for industrial and consumer automotive use.
