St. Louis-based Harbour Group said yesterday that it has purchased Alemite LLC, a manufacturer of lubrication and fluid handling equipment and systems. In addition to an existing lubrication equipment business, Harbour has affiliates that supply lighting equipment, entertainment systems and heat exchangers.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Alemite, which is headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C., makes and markets pumps, reels, grease fittings, manual and powered grease guns, automatic lubrication equipment and related accessories. It will join Lincoln Industrial Corp. as part of Harbours Lubricating Systems Group. Harbour officials said the acquisition brings it new products and customers.

Alemite and Lincoln complement each other extremely well, said Bart Aitken, president of the Lubricating Systems Group. The combination increases our distribution reach and broadens our product offerings, enabling us to better serve our customers.

Harbour said it will maintain Alemite and Lincoln as distinct product lines and will continue using the sales channels of both businesses.
