Yesterday was Independence Day in the United States, making this a quiet week for U.S. base oil markets. None of the base oil buyers or sellers reached by Lube Report on Monday had news of any price movements – and no one expected any. The price of crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange closed Monday at $73.93 per barrelaccording to Bloomberg. That was $1.78 higher than the closing price a week ago Tuesday. The NYMEX was closed yesterday.
