ORourke Petroleum Products and Solutions announced this month its acquisition of oil jobber Commercial Lubricants Dallas division. The deal comes 11 years after ORourke bought Commercials Houston operations.
These deals were both with the same company, but we made them for two different reasons, ORourke President and Chief Operating Officer Mushahid Khan said. We bought the Houston business in 95 because they had a few key accounts that we wanted. In the case of [the Dallas division], it is part of our strategy to become a regional company.
ORourke is based in Houston. Both it and Commercials Dallas division distribute Shell lubricants, and ORourke supplies commercial and industrial customers, primarily along the Gulf of Mexico Coast in Texas and Louisiana. The latest Commercial acquisition extends the companys reach further inland, but ORourke isnt stopping there. Khan said the company has other acquisitions pending and expects to announce another transaction within three to six months.
ORourke did not disclose terms of this months acquisition or the size of the Dallas division.
