Sunoco has ceased making its Group I 300 solvent neutral base oil, as a result of operational changes that increased capacity at its plant in Tulsa, Okla. The plant continues to make one mid-grade oil, a 250 solvent neutral.

The company indicated last week that it had made the change. Officials said the plant stopped making the 300 oil approximately two months ago. Earlier this year Sunoco said that operational changes at the plant had increased capacity by 1,000 barrels per day to 9,500 b/d.

Posted prices for paraffinic stocks in the United States were unchanged again this week. The price of crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange closed yesterday at $71.91 per barrel, according to Bloomberg. That represented an increase of 65 cents from a week ago.

Historic U.S. posted base oil prices and WTI and Brent crude spot prices are available for purchase in Excel format.
