Southeastern distributor Pugh Lubricants said last week that it is building a 40,000-square-foot distribution center in Suffolk, Virginia. The center, which will be the companys third, is scheduled to open by the end of summer.

Pugh is based in Asheboro, N.C., and claims to be one of the largest lube distributors in the Southeast. Its other two centers are in Asheboro and in Charleston, S.C. The company sells automotive and industrial lubricants, along with automotive maintenance chemicals in the Carolinas, Virginia and eastern Tennessee. Among the brands it carries are Valvoline, Pyroil, 76 and Castrol.

President Ronnie Pugh said the new warehouse in Suffolk will replace an existing facility less than half as large. Pugh has leased the facility since acquiring it in the purchase of another company three years ago.
