PMC Group said last month thatits specialty chemical subsidiary Crystal has bought ExxonMobil’s North American wax emulsion business. PMC officials said the acquisition of ExxonMobils brand names, accounts and technology will make it the premier supplier of these specialty wax based products in North America.

The purchase was completed by Crystal PMC Inc., of Lansdale, Pa., a supplier of specialty and performance chemicals including sodium and potassium stearates, wax emulsions, specialty antifoams, rubber and plastic additives and process chemicals. The sellers were ExxonMobil Oil Corp. and ExxonMobil Mexico S.A. None of the parties disclosed the price of the transaction, which included well-known wax emulsion brand names Mobilcer and Mulrex.
