Former Pennzoil-Quaker State executive Gerald Jackson was named general manager of base oils for Motiva Enterprises LLC, effective June 1. Jackson has 26 years of experience in the industry and was Pennzoil-Quaker States vice president of lubricants and base oil technology when Shell Oil Products US acquired it in October 2002. Since then he has worked on the Pennzoil-Quaker State integration and special projects in Shell Lubricants strategy group.

Jackson replaces Brian P. Smith, who earlier this year was appointed Motivas vice president of supply, distribution and commercial marketing. Jackson now reports directly to Smith. Based in Houston, Motiva is a 50-50 joint venture between affiliates of Shell and Saudi Refining Inc.
