Polartech Finds Ally in Mexico

British additive supplier Polartech Ltd. announced Monday that it has entered the Mexican market by signing a long-term distribution agreement with a subsidiary of Mexico City-based US Technologies.

Casoil, the subsidiary, will distribute Polartech branded additives and additive packages produced at Polartechs facilities in Great Britain, as well as Petromix products that Polartech recently purchased from Crompton and which are produced in the United States. Additives from both locations are sold to blenders of metalworking fluids.

Casoil already supplies lard oils and other naturally derived materials in Mexico. Polartech, which has not previously been in the market, called Mexico a growth opportunity and said it chose Casoil at least in part because it already has a wide network. Casoil officials said they wanted to partner with Polartech because it has established products and provides training and service locally.
