Owners of Acrotech Industries Inc. have acquired the Lubriko and Moly-XL brand names in a going-out-of-business sale by Master Lubricants Co.

Westville, New Jersey-based Master Lubricants sold the brands to Dynamic Industrial Group, a holding company created by Acrotech owners specifically for the transaction. Production operations, including equipment, will be transferred to Acrotechs plant in Milwaukee, Wis.

The deal is the second such acquisition for Acrotech, which was formed in 2002 as a packager, marketer and distributor of Slip-Plate, a dry film graphite lubricant developed by Superior Graphite Co. Acrotech President Bruce Moncrieff said his company, which is headquartered in Lake In The Hills, Ill., is still looking for other businesses to pick up.

There are a lot of companies out there that have small grease or lube operations which may be doing okay but which really arent part of their core operations, Moncrieff said. We can either take the business off their hands or set up an arrangement where we run it for them.

Moncrieff said that greases comprise approximately 85 percent of sales under the Lubriko and Moly-XL brands. He and his partners wanted to acquire the brands because Acrotech produces complementary products for similar markets – agriculture, general industrial distributors, auto transportation and bakery.

Lubriko and Moly-XL were Master Lubricants sole business, andthe company is in the process of going out of business. Master Lubricants Vice President Ken Kunz said the companys principals concluded it would be better able to grow in the hands of other owners.
