Two additive and specialty lubricant manufacturers announced the recent appointments of new presidents. Chemicals industry veteran Peter J. Deutch was named to head Hatco Corp., while former Gateway Additives executive Tim Langlois was named to lead Polartech Additives Inc.

Deutch, who was also named chief operating officer, is filling a new position at Hatco. His duties were formerly handled by Alex Kaufman, who remains chairman and president of Hatcos parent company, Kaufman Holdings Corp. Deutch joins the Fords, N.J., company after stints at Cytec Industries, Union Camp Corp. and Dow Chemical Co. Hatco supplies esters, synthetic lubricants and specialty chemicals.

Langlois was vice president of sales with Gateway Additives and before that was employed by Mayco. He will be based in Detroit. Polartech Additives is the North American subsidiary of Polartech Ltd., which is based in Manchester, England. The company makes and markets additives and finished fluids, primarily for metalworking applications.
