LSC Acquires Vistone from Infineum

Lubricating Specialties Co. recently acquired the Vistone product line and associated business from Infineum USA L.P. The transaction, which closed Dec. 30, included Vistones compressor fluid brand, a detergent additive for aviation lubricants, and a viscosity modifier used in a variety of industrial lubricant and grease formulations. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.

According to LSCs website, it has previously offered a synthetic air compressor oil designed to provide extended service life in rotary screw compressors and greatly reduced deposits in both single- and multi-stage reciprocating air compressors.

LSC, which is largest independent lubricant blender in the Western United States, believes this acquisition will expand its product range. LSC President and CEO Sydney Thwaites said it allows the company to continue its strategy of offering a diversified set of products.

In a press release, Thwaites vowed that neither customer service, supply chain logistics nor product integrity would be affected by Vistones shift from Infineum to LSC.

Richard Scott, business development manager at LSC, will lead the marketing and customer service support of Vistones products.

Founded in 1928, Pico Rivera, Calif.-based LSC is a contract blender and packager of lubricants and greases. The company also provides liquid storage, transloading, warehousing, distribution and export services to the lubricant and chemical industries.
